The Much Neglected Castle House

John Board was responsible for the much neglected Castle House on Queen Street, the 'concrete castle', which was built the same year the Wembdon Road Cemetery opened.

He was from a prominent family of Brick and Tile merchants, he owned a lime and cement works and the house was intended to showcase the versatility of his product.
